The Perfect Healthy Almond Butter Cake Recipe

With the holidays just around the corner, now is a great time to start searching for new, healthy recipes your family will love.

The best way to end the day is with a delicious dessert you don't feel guilty biting into. If you're searching for dessert ideas that are low-carb, low-sugar, and keto-friendly, we can help you bake up something sweet.

Almond butter cakes are a perfect option since they are packed with healthy ingredients and protein. Take a look at our recipe below and bite into our baking tips!

Why Choose Almond Butter?

Almond butter cakes have a flavor profile comparable to a Danish pastry.

Using another type of nut butter can impact the consistency and prevent people from tasting the almond. For example, when you compare almond and cashew butter, you discover they have unique flavor profiles. If you like to eat your almond cake with buttercream or whipping cream, it will balance out the flavor and feel, without becoming too dense.

Our almond butter is handcrafted to perfection so you can gain the benefits without the guilt. If you're planning to make a cake for the holidays, our Pumpkin Cheesecake, Cinnamon Toasties, and Big Apple butter are recommended. You can also find cookie-inspired almond butter or keep it simple with Colie's Vanilla Crumb Cake Almond Butter.

Aside from the flavor, almond butter provides other benefits to the cake. The grittier texture, which is still smooth and palatable, will help hold your cake together. Instead of relying on dairy products, the almonds will work while offering a memorable sweet and nutty flavor.

Eat Your Cake & Be a Health Nut Too

The saying goes, "You can't have your cake and eat it (too)."

This popular idiom doesn't apply when you add our nut butter to your cake recipes. You can get the best of both worlds with an almond butter cake because it's a guiltless dessert. We use the best ingredients that offer benefits and happiness so the only bad part is taking the last bite.

Many people eat almond butter cakes in the morning because they are loaded with healthy fats and protein. Our butter has locally sourced, grass-fed whey protein in the blend, which eases digestion and benefits the muscles. The best part about our whey protein is it's lactose-free and naturally sweetened.

Without processed ingredients, our customers can enjoy a rich spoonful without the inflammation.

Expert Baking Tips

The instructions above can help you achieve a moist and delicious almond butter cake.

If you want to amplify the flavors, there are a few things you can try. The most important thing about cooking with almond butter is you have to monitor the ingredients while it's cooking. Our almond butter shouldn't burn easily, but nuts tend to toast quickly in the oven.

To help make your almond butter cake a bit lighter, you can sift the flour while pouring it into the mixing bowl. This helps aerate the cake and prevent clumping during the blending process. After you're done mixing, the batter should be thick, you may need to use a spoon to even it out.

Following the keto diet is easy with this recipe if you use Stevia as the sweetener. Our products at American Dream have Stevia since it's a natural alternative to sugar. If you want to learn more about our product line, view our FAQs and discover the details.

When using our almond butter, be sure to fully mix it up before adding it to your cake recipe. The toppings often settle in transit and mixing it will guarantee you taste each flavor profile.

Flavor Pairings

Polls from the last holiday season showed around 30% of Americans were stressed about what foods to serve.

Cooking for more than one person can get complicated since everyone has their preferences for flavors. If you're stressing about what to serve with your almond butter cake, we have a few recommendations.

Regardless of which type of almond butter you select, coffee is a perfect pairing. Many people eat almond butter cake while sipping on a coffee or espresso. The coffee beans have a bitter and Earthy taste, but the caramel notes are heightened with the sweet cake.

Chai tea is another beverage pairing you can offer guests. Almonds have a fruity, nutty, and toasty taste that blends well with the spices in chai tea. Cinnamon, clove, and dark chocolate are other flavor profiles you can highlight alongside your cake.

Keep in mind whatever flavor profile you want to emphasize can be done with our specialty nut butter options!

Butter My Cookie

If you're searching for a sweet and simple almond butter for your cake, Butter My Cookie is a great choice.

This fan favorite is gluten-free, packed with whey protein, and tasty ingredients. The almond butter base is delicious on its own but we've loaded our jars with caramel shortbread cookie crumbs, chocolate chips, and toffee. Each bite of this almond butter will fulfill your sweet tooth but you don't have to worry, since it's macro-friendly.

American Dream creates this almond butter, and many others, in small batches. This helps amplify the flavors of the natural oils included in our recipe. If you want to make things sweeter, don't be afraid to combine your favorite variation of sugar in the cake batter!

Caramel Crunch Cappuccino

As mentioned above, almond butter cake pairs well with coffee and espresso.

Our Caramel Crunch Cappuccino is the perfect option if you plan to enjoy your cake in the mornings, but since it's caffeine-free, you can have it any time. You don't have to travel through the frigid temps this winter to get your coffee fix when it's sitting inside your pantry or fridge.

Once you open your Caramel Crunch Cappuccino, a warm and inviting scent of freshly brewed coffee will fill the air. The salted caramel chips offer a crunch and sweet bite to each spoonful, making it feel like you're enjoying sugar crystals.

Although this almond butter flavor is low in sugar, we use a little bit of Stevia to balance the bitter notes of espresso and coffee. Oil separation is common for almond butter, so give your jar a good stir before enjoying it!

Mint Chocolate Dream

Mint and chocolate are a natural pairing, which is why we already offer the delicious flavor!

Our Mint Chocolate Dream almond butter is a customer favorite that can easily be added to your cake. Cocoa bits, natural mint extract, and crumbled candy are found within our jars to pack a punch of flavor. Your almond butter cake will leave a refreshing impression with this butter.

American Dream almonds are roasted before grinding them down into an oil. This helps enhance the nutty aromas, which balance the vibrant notes of the mint.

If you like our Mint Chocolate Dream, you can also add our Gingerdoodle almond butter or Candy Cane Kisses peanut butter.

Sugar Pie Honey Chunk

This signature almond butter is playful and adds a simple, yet intriguing flavor profile, to cakes.

Our Sugar Pie Honey Chunk butter is topped with bright pink sprinkles, mini chocolate chips, and white chocolate chips. The combination of bittersweet and white chocolate offers the best of both worlds and they taste wonderful in cakes.  Most of our almond butter is around 170 calories, but this one is more macro-friendly, being 160 calories!

Each serving has seven grams of protein, so you won't feel hungry after eating a slice of cake. This makes enjoying dessert easier since it comes with healthy fats and nutrients.

Confetti Cake Pop

If you like to keep things simple and traditional, our Confetti Cake Pop won't be a disappointment.

This vegan, almond butter has subtle flavors of vanilla and sweet buttercream. You can embrace the luxurious flavors and aromas without being distracted by other ingredients. Confetti Cake Pop almond butter is light and won't weigh your cake down.

The best toppings you can add to your cake with this flavor of almond butter are fruit and whipping cream. Strawberries and raspberries offer a bright punch of flavor, which can lighten the dessert.

Cookie Batter

When it comes to baking, there's no such thing as too much chocolate.

If you want to incorporate your favorite treats in your almond butter cake, you should try our Cookie Batter butter. Most almond butter recipes are kept simple, but at American Dream, we know how to break the mold.

Not only is our Cookie Batter almond butter gluten-free and vegan, but it's also one of our lower-priced butter. The smooth almond butter gets mixed with chocolate sandwich cookies, similar to Oreo. To top things off and make the butter more playful, we've also included bright sprinkles.

Although the Cookie Batter almond butter is inspired by cookies and milk, you will also notice light notes of vanilla. The vanilla produces a lighter flavor, which can be helpful when incorporating other ingredients into your cake.

If you want to make a butter cake with cashew or peanut butter options, we have two comparable choices. The gluten-free Monster Cookie peanut butter and One Tough Cookie are excellent flavors to try.
