What is Nut Butter?

First, nut butter is created by grinding various nuts into a paste. The process results in a spreadable, high-fat content butter.

Nut butters contain a combination of nutrients like fiber, vitamins B & E, protein, phosphorous, and zinc. In addition to cashew butter, there is also almond butter, walnut butter, peanut butter, coconut butter, hazelnut butter, soy nut butter, and sunflower seed butter. Each has its own health benefits that could make it the best nut butter for your needs or preferences.

Cashew butter is creamy, smooth, and a little lower in fat than other nut butters. If eaten in limited portions, cashew butter is a great kept nut butter.

Let's take a look at five of the top benefits of cashew nut butter.

Cashew Butter is Nutrient-Rich

The top benefit of cashew nut butter worth mentioning is that it contains so many important nutrients. It does not contain any omega-3 fatty acids, but it does contain essential amino acids, monounsaturated fatty acids, and magnesium. All of these nutrients are great for your bone health, blood pressure, metabolism, and immune system.

Cashews have one of the highest counts in iron and copper compared to all tree nuts. Because they are high in iron, cashew butter can help fight anemia. Cashews are low in sugar.

Cashews contain a good amount of copper, which is an essential mineral when it comes to healthy brain development, energy production, and a functioning immune system.

Cashews and cashew butter are naturally filling, so they can have you reaching for additional snacks less. This is cashew butter's power to help with weight control.

Because of its nutrient-dense nature, cashew butter is a fantastic alternative for healthy lunches. Cashew butter has more iron and magnesium than peanut butter. It is a great alternative - swap out peanut butter for cashew butter in your kids' lunches.

Healthy Fat Content

Cashews consist of unsaturated fats in the form of monounsaturated fatty acids. These help protect against heart disease, help with weight loss, and improve insulin sensitivity.

In fact, cashews are actually one of the best sources of these monounsaturated fatty acids. They can help reduce the risk for heart disease, strokes, and your chances of developing Type 2 diabetes. These unsaturated fats are also linked to a lower risk for premature death.

Bad fats contribute to a build-up of cholesterol in the arteries. Adding cashew butter to your diet can help you clean out the cholesterol build-up in your arteries.

Great for Plant-Based Diets

Cashews are becoming a great addition to the plant-based diet for anyone who is a vegetarian or vegan. It's a great way to add more protein to your diet if you are trying to avoid animal-based protein.

Cashew butters tend to be the most creamy, delicious, and versatile option when it comes to making plant-based dairy substitutes. Just one handful of cashews will give you 5 grams of plant-based protein.

Cashews are a great source of carotenoids and polyphenols, which are two types of antioxidants. Antioxidants help reduce inflammation in the body and keep you healthy.

No Peanuts

Chances are, you or someone you know is allergic to peanuts. Millions of adults and kids suffer from peanut allergies ranging from mild to severe. Or, these allergies can be deadly.

The main difference between peanut butter and cashew butter is that peanuts are used to make peanut butter and cashews are used to make cashew butter.

Therefore, cashew butter is completely peanut-free, which makes it a fantastic alternative for anyone who suffers from a peanut allergy. Cashew butter can be used as a substitute in any recipe that calls for peanut butter.

If you are looking for a richer taste, choose roaster cashew butter. For a more nutty taste, raw cashew butter is the way to go. There are even different-flavored cashew nut butters

Cashew butter has a diverse list of uses. Grab a jar and get busy in the kitchen trying out different recipes.

Add some cashew butter to your favorite smoothie recipe for an extra burst of energy throughout the day. For lunch, swap out the peanut butter and opt for a cashew butter and jelly sandwich. For dinner, whip up some Pad Thai and add your favorite cashew butter.

  • Cashew Butter is a rich, creamy but not heavy tasting butter that blends well with most jams and preserves. I have found it very easy to replace my peanut butter.
